Ustadh Abdulwahab Shittu delivered a thoughtful lecture on patience during trials, reminding the MSSN LASUSTECH Ikorodu community that challenges are an unavoidable part of life. Every human being will face difficulties, but what defines a true believer is how they respond to them.
He explained that patience goes deeper than simple endurance; it involves accepting Allah’s decree with trust and without complaint.Ustadh Abdulwahab stressed that reacting to hardship with negative words is harmful, while responding by saying “Alhamdulillah” earns a person the status of a true believer, as referenced in Suratul Hadid.
Everything that happens either good or bad comes from Allah’s perfect plan. Wealth, poverty, sickness, and ease are all forms of tests, and patience itself is a gift from Allah given to whom He wills. To illustrate the importance of patience, he highlighted the story of Prophet Yusuf (A.S.), who faced betrayal, false accusations, and imprisonment but remained steadfast until Allah elevated him. He also mentioned Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.), who passed through many trials through complete submission to Allah, while the story of Iblis shows how arrogance leads to downfall.
The lecturer reminded everyone that modern challenges , health issues, financial struggles, family problems, academic pressure are also part of the tests of life. The believer’s strength lies in showing patience, staying grateful, and constantly turning to Allah in dua. After giving thanks, one should seek His guidance and rely on Him completely. The Usrah reaffirmed that trials are not meant to break a believer but to strengthen their faith. Through patience, gratitude, and trust in Allah, every hardship becomes a means of spiritual growth.
